“I chose Carthage because of its excellent Space Sciences Program 和 generous scholarships the College offered me. The program aligns perfectly with my interests in aerospace engineering 和 astro物理.Carthage offered scholarships that were life-changing for me,和y opened opportunities I never thought I would have had before, such as coming to America 和 getting to double major in two fields, which I dreamt about since I was a kid.”

指导老师

“Carthage faculty are impressive. 学校的教职员工 Mathematics Department 和 物理系 have helped me immensely with classes 和 my future goals. They will help anyone who asks them questions. Developing a good relationship with faculty members has opened my eyes to new opportunities, such as internships 和 研究项目.”

最喜欢的课程

“My favorite class so far has been Real Analysis. If you like 数学, Real Analysis is the perfect class for you. Your eyes will open to a new world. 此外, 马克·斯内夫利教授 does a perfect job at explaining all the class content with videos.”

艰难的类

“My toughest class is also my favorite class, Real Analysis. Do not misunderst和 me, the class itself is not hard, but the amount of work 和 effort you have to put into it in order to fulfill homework assignments is incredible; homework assignments are mostly mathematical proofs.”

校园的参与

“成为…的一部分 数学俱乐部Society of 物理 Students has been an incredible experience. I attended conferences 和 met great people in both clubs. They provide a supportive community of like-minded individuals, 和 I’ve made valuable connections. These clubs have enriched my college journey, 加深了我的知识, 和 fueled my passion for 数学 和 物理.”

黄金机会

“I have had two research opportunities so far. The first one was in summer 2022 helping to build a satellite as part of the Space Sciences Program,和 project is still ongoing. 我非常感谢 凯文·克罗斯比教授 for allowing me to participate in the project.

“I am currently doing a second project in mathematical research called ‘Applications of Topological Data Analysis.’ This research examines how noise affects different data types that change over time. It aims to underst和 relationship between noisy data 和 topological noise — temporary patterns in the data that go away when things change. The goal is to develop ways to differentiate meaningful noise for the data’s structure from r和om noise that does not mean anything. 我想感谢 Professor Megan Stickler for mentoring me throughout this project.”

职业目标

“After graduation, I plan to get a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering or Astro物理, but I am still deciding. My long-term goal is to work for a space agency such as Space X or NASA.”

Favorite spot on campus

“My favorite spot on campus is the seventh floor of . 它有一个奇妙的 湖景 和 two lobby areas where you can study.”

最喜欢的记忆

“My time at Carthage has been filled with countless cherished moments 和 memories, many of which revolve around my meaningful connections with friends, 我的女朋友,和 broader community. The diverse 和 vibrant campus community has allowed me to meet people from different backgrounds, 文化, 和观点.

“Engaging in conversations, participating in clubs 和 organizations, 和 collaborating on group projects have broadened my horizons 和 fostered a greater underst和ing 和 appreciation of the world around me. Attending conferences 和 academic events have allowed me to engage with experts in various fields, learn about groundbreaking research, 和 gain insights into emerging trends 和 advancements. 随着我的前进, I am grateful for these cherished memories 和ir lasting impact on my college journey.”

What would your 8-year-old self think of you now?

“If my 8-year-old self could see my current studies 和 career path, he would be filled with awe 和 excitement. My younger self would be amazed that I am studying complex subjects like 数学 和 物理, delving into the mysteries of the universe. He would see me as someone who has embraced his curiosity 和 love for learning, pursuing fields that involve exploration 和 problem-solving.”
